Pinkie Maclure is a multidisciplinary, award-winning Scottish artist, who believes that our present is haunted by our past.

Using stained glass installations, she makes intimate work that examines today’s big issues, such as addiction, insomnia and our self-destructive relationship with nature. She uses the distinctively chaotic nature of stained glass to create poignant, darkly humorous vignettes full of symbolism, exploiting the tension between the sacred and the unexpected.

This is going to be a design focused workshop. We need to use at least 50% glass material if we’d like to call the end piece “glass”. The rest of it could be completed by using other creative materials in the same direction to the artist’s way of creative thinking. You may not be your best in shaping glass; there may always better crafters. It would be enough to know well enough how to shape glass and how the risks are in order to get ahead others with a good design.

In December 2019 a manuscript was sold at auction in Brussels. Described as a pattern book for clear leaded windows, probably originating from Tongeren (located in Belgium), dating from late 17th/early 18th century. Based on an inscription, the book was drawn by a certain Severinus Ulrix, hence its name: the Ulrix manuscript. The webinar uses the Ulrix manuscript as starting point to talk about the system of the glaziers’ guilds and the historical evolution of non-painted leaded windows.

Throughout her career, Toots Zynsky (Boston, 1951; lives and works in Providence, RI, USA) has always looked to nature as a primary source of inspiration.
The artist presents a new body of works that explores through the chromatic element the complex relationship between man and the environment.
Of particular interest to her are some endangered animal species which become the protagonists of a naturalistic but also imaginative representation, mastering the pioneering technique of filet-de-verre.

The path focuses on one of the favorite subjects in Dady Orsi's painting: The rooms, real wunderkammer, in which the artist’s real world -his home, his objects- and the vision-ary one, transfigured by his creativity, are translated into intriguing and engaging images. During the 2022 Wisconsin Science Festival, students will learn about Blaschka glass. These amazing pieces of glass marine invertebrate models were used as teaching models throughout the world in the 1800's. They will then mimic these collections using materials other than glass. Photos of the completed models of their creation will be part of a social media campaign that will help inform professional artists and scientific glassblowers on what Blaschka pieces are most popular and informative.

This project is part of the Malatosca-Surroca initiative to keep alive the historical glass memory of this valley. We are interviewing witnesses, discovering emblematic places whith past glass activity and we are recovering tools and glass material that will accompany us in the finding of formulas and work processes. Maintaining historical memory is not just documentation. It is also a living work that wants to unite past and present, proposing artistic glass workshops to the public.

The exhibition Pleiad of Glass 1946-2019, which has consisted of art-exhibition glass objects, has been expanded to include almost fifty large-scale sculptures from the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. All of the exhibited objects document not only the creativity of Czech artists, which in its day foreshadowed the future developments in art glass in the world, but also the technical virtuosity of the master glassmakers that collaborated in the execution of these artworks.

We propose the realization of an artistic event, with the aim of promoting and disseminating the technique of leaded and enameled stained glass to put it in value. We are three Argentine stained glass artists and our proposal seeks to publicize the traditional stained glass technique expressed in the contemporary languages of art, giving importance to the art of grisaille. We would make an exhibition with contemporary stained glass.
